George is the Consultancy Services Manager within Land and Environmental Services with Glasgow City Council.  In this role he is responsible for the Project Management and Design teams which deliver a wide range of roads, public realm, parks, river infrastructure, walking and cycling, and public transport projects and initiatives.

He has 28 years experience of working within the public sector, working on the development of roads projects such as the M77, M74, and the East End Regeneration Route, advising on policy and transport planning matters, and managing the development and delivery of other infrastructure projects within the city including the Clyde Arc Bridge and the Clyde Fastlink project.

George was heavily involved in developing the transport element of the successful Bid to bring the Commonwealth Games to Glasgow in 2014, and continues to work with the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee and other partners to develop the Transport Strategy for the Games.
