Responsible for managing Transport and Environment within Glasgow City Council. This includes the development of policy, strategy and planning of the Transport and Environment functions and being the client/project sponsor.

The remit of Transport covers all forms of public transport, road based transport, walking and cycling. In addition, it includes for the M74 Completion project, carrying out the role of the Appointed Agent’s representative in the delivery of services and works. The remit for Environment also covers Sustainability, Strategic Drainage and Land Remediation.

Another role is to develop partnership working and investment priorities with bodies such as Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, Local Authorities and Universities.  

Currently, vice chair of the Society of Chief Officers of Transportation in Scotland (SCOTS) and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers Management Board in Scotland.
