Ian McKay
Ian is a Regional Director with W.A. Fairhurst and Partner and has over 22 years experience in the design, project management and procurement of a wide range of transport infrastructure projects and studies in the UK and overseas.
Educated at Paisley University, Ian then worked in England and the United Arab Emirates before returning to Scotland in 1997.
He is currently Project Director for the M8 Baillieston to Newhouse and Associated Improvements commission for Transport Scotland, where he has overall responsibility for the delivery of the M8 Scheme and associated remodelling of M74 Junction 5, Raith and operational improvements on the M8, M73 and M74.
Ian has a comprehensive knowledge of the procurement process for Traditional and Design & Build schemes, and has acted as the Engineer for a range of construction projects. He has championed Value for Money and Value Engineering, Risk Management and Buildability processes to meet changing project drivers.
